HyClyde is an ambitious hydrogen partnership led by Marubeni Europower and Beam Suntory to decarbonise Auchentoshan Distillery.
Set near Clydebank, the project aims to demonstrate how proven hydrogen technology can deliver real-world emissions reduction and social value. The team needed a strategy to build public confidence, align internal stakeholders, and tell a clear, compelling story - while navigating regulatory risk, public perception and a first-of-a-kind energy transition.

Crafting a brand that balances tradition and technology
We anchored the project in a strong narrative of heritage meets innovation - bridging Scottish whisky and Japanese energy expertise. Our strategy was built on early, honest engagement, trust-building, and visibility.
We clarified the project’s unique position: scalable, safe and locally beneficial. With the Hydrogen Allocation Round in sight, we moved quickly to get the brand, message and engagement programme ready for primetime.

Brand and identity
Developed the HyClyde name, logotype, visual identity and guidelines - infusing local heritage with future ambition.
Narrative and messaging
Created a clear messaging framework and Q&A pack for all partners, aligned to community and policy priorities.
Digital presence
Designed and launched a user-focused website as a central engagement hub, supported by curated brand imagery and copy.
Stakeholder engagement
Led early community engagement strategy including public events, collateral development, and local media prep.
